My name is Scott Taylor. I have been in Pastoral ministry since 1994. It is with great delight that I am able to serve here at Hermon Baptist Church as Senior Pastor.
I was born and raised in Miramichi, New Brunswick, Canada. After High School, I attended the University of New Brunswick for one year, New Brunswick Bible Institute for three years and completed distance learning from Tyndale Bible Institute & Theological Seminary.
The Lord has led me to pastor in a number of places that include Nova Scotia and Maine.
God has blessed me with a wonderful wife Dawn and two children: Kassy lives in Florida with her husband Joe, and Kolton lives with us.
When I have the opportunity, I like to hunt, fish, travel and ride my fat bike exploring and enjoying the beauty of God’s creation.

Chris Plaisted was raised both physically and spiritually at Jonesboro Union Church located in Jonesboro, Maine. He now lives in Brewer with his wife Hannah, their son Solomon, and another child to arrive in late January 2026. Chris and Hannah met in August of 2019 and were married in July of 2020.
The Plaisteds began attending HBC the week after their marriage and quickly felt God telling them that this was their new home Church. They became members in 2021 and have served in various ministries throughout the Church body. In 2023 Chris was elected as a Deacon. In August 2025, after much prayer and listening for the Lord’s calling, Chris was called by Hermon Baptist Church as our Assistant Pastor.
A former music teacher and businessman, Pastor Chris enjoys spending his spare time outside in God’s creation by hunting, walking, and gardening. He also loves to play his trumpet in a local community band and leads worship music at HBC by singing and playing guitar.
